How can I get baby off bottle now he's turning 1?

My son is 1 next week and has a bottle morning and night. I know it isn't a problem but babies don't really need bottles after they are 1 so I thought it's better trying to get rid of the bottle when he's younger rather than older. How did you about dropping the bottles? The problem is he doesn't drink well enough out of a sippy cup bye he maybe 1-3oz of water over the whole day.

My son turns one in two weeks and we completely weened him off a month ago. We started sippy cups when he was really little but he never drank much from them. I found a few sippy cups that had a faster flow and I laid him down with a sippy cup full of formula at nap time one day and he downed it! So in the morning when he woke up I gave him a sippy cup with milk and laid him back down and he downed that! So over the course of a week we just started giving him sippy cups in the crib (where he's not distracted by toys and is half sleepy). Now he's drinking more and more at meal times because he's getting used to the flow of the sippy cup. He actually drank 4oz of milk at dinner the other night! I gave him 2oz of watered down freshly squeezed orange juice and he killed it! So maybe try giving him a sippy cup during a quiet time while he's laying down (I put my sons head on the belly of a teddy bear so he's not flat) and see if he drinks more and gets used to it? I'd start with that morning feeding.

Before my son was one i started giving him nuby brand soft nipple sippy cups.  He took to them very easily. i think because its soft like his bottle and had to put tongue on it to make it actually come out.  I found that the nuby brand doesnt leak either.   overall hes done good with them  but i started around 8 or 9 months and he hasnt had a bottle since.   i know every child is different     good luck

I started to give my son sippy cups around 6 months. He is now 1 and we have completely gotten him off of sippy cups.

Try straw soppy cups, better for teeth and most kids prefer it

I started giving my daughter a sippy cup with a straw around the house and once she got used to it, switched the cup in the evening and then a week or two later in the morning.

If he doesn't really take a sippy cup try just a regular cup and put very little in it. With my oldest she had bit holes in the nipples so I saved the nipples and every time she wanted a bottle I'd give her the broken nipple one. She absolutely hated it. Oh I also hid all the other bottles. Then I'd show her the bottle cupboard and she'd see no bottles n she just started drinking from sippy cup. With my second daughter I just kept giving her a sippy and bottle at night. Then I eventually took the bottle fully away. And she doesn't have a drink before bed either. She's 19 months.

we just took them away😂😂😂 no but seriously we did sippy cups early. we started them off with the little ones for beginners from about 5/6 months old with just water so that they were use to it by that time. but most of my friends just took it away and moved from there. yes baby will have a fit but you just have to find a away around it
