Ovulate....TWICE?

Question

Is it possible to ovulate twice during your cycle?
I know it's a long shot, but I have super long cycles (35-48 days) and there have been times where I ovulated in the first 9 days after my period ended, and several times where I didn't ovulate at all.
But my last few cycles, I'll have every sign of ovulation around day 9-12, then again around day 20-26,

Yup, you can even end up with twins conceived a few days apart or with different fathers (though that is very rare.)

This is literally identical to my cycle.
I have used ovulation kits twice, first month I didn't ovulate, second month it showed two waves. Both lines almost darker than the control line, first towards the beginning of the month, then towards the end. So I'm almost positive I ovulate twice a month.
And it isn't unheard of. I think they did a study in 2003 or something about this.
