any babies not liking trying food??

Question

I tried to give my LO cereal and I've tried bananas and applesauce, days apart, and I feel like he's not liking food! I can get him to take a bite or two and he makes nasty faces and then just cries, anyone else's LO like this or any advice??

My first never liked baby food. This time we are waiting until our now 19 week old is showing all signs and at least 6 months and will be doing baby lead weaning.

Our doctor told us to give food only when they can sit up unassisted for a minute, loose the tongue movement where they just spit everything out (around six months) and be 6 months old. Their gut still isn't properly closed so it makes it so they can have GI issues later on if you try foods too early.

We were just at a feeding baby seminar. They said to let the child lead the amount and frequency of eating. So if they are Turing their head and refusing food, they are probably just not ready yet. Try again in a few days or a week. 17 weeks is pretty early. We were told to wait until at least 6mths.

Every baby is different and ready for solids at different ages. I would stop and wait a few more weeks and then try again.
