What does everyone mean by “Nipple Stimulation”

People that are suggesting things to get labor started always say nipple stimulation. Is that like using a pump or massaging your nipples, or squeezing them? I don’t know! And how does it work? Does it get contractions going with causes the cervix to thin or dilate? I just need answers! lol

I was wondering the same thing, because my husband loves playing so my nipples as a form of foreplay. Does that count? Or is there only one type of way it has to be done?

all those things! the idea is that it stimulates oxytocin production, which will stimulate labor (pitocin, which is used to artificially induce labor is a synthetic form of oxytocin). so, whatever nipple stimulation is most pleasant for you will likely be most effective in producing oxytocin. :)

I tried this y'day just to see if it worked and it deff does. I took the palm of my hand and rubbed in a circular motion over my nipple and aerola for 4 minutes and stopped for 4 minutes and I had some very noticeable contractions. My stomach hardened and I felt some very light menstrual cramps in my lower stomach. Then you do the other side for 4 minutes and stop for 4 minutes. You have to be pretty committed though and keep doing it.
