Does Marriage Automatically Mean Access to All Your Partner's Things?
Here's what I mean. My husband thinks "what's mine is ours" when it comes to our marriage. He wants my email password, bank account passwords, my social media passwords, etc. I have nothing to hide (except money; my husband is TERRIBLE with money - and he knows this; we have talked about money and bill issues at length), but I don't think my husband needs to be scrolling through my emails, for example. I don't think being married means one should give up all their personal privacy, but my husband does. I think we all have a right to a certain degree of individuality and privacy - and it doesnt have to be filtered through a spouse. My husband always responds (when I tell him no to something regarding my privacy) "Well, you can look through my stuff." Okay, that's nice, but I don't need nor want to look through your stuff; I mean, what for? This is a constant debate for my husband and I. Curious about others experiences or advice? Open to all opinions. Thank you.
