How was your experience with getting married in a courthouse?

My fiance and I are getting married next week and I want to hear about other experiences. I'm really nervous about it for some reason. What did you wear? How long did it take? What was it like? Thanks.

I was 8 months pregnant! It was perfect and simple! We had a wonderful dinner with very close friends and family. Very small and intimate.

My husband and I legit got married at the bank. Took our marriage license in there and the banker signed it and notarized it.

My husband and I were miserably I'll, so some of the details are little fuzzy. It was small courtroom, stood up front with us. I wore a nice skirt and blouse, my husband wore khakis, shirt and tie. A clerk at the court house gave me a rose. She bought roses with her own money for all the brides that came through that courthouse. We took our parents and his brother with us. The whole ceremony was about 20 minutes. Then we went home and spent 2 days in bed trying not to vomit on each other, because we were just that sick.

we made an appointment, we have a tiny courtroom so they do it by appointment only. most of our family and close friends came. it took maybe 10 minutes. witnesses signed and we were done. I wouldn't change it for the world.

My ex-husband and I were married at San Francisco City Hall, and was actually a very pretty ceremony. :)

My husband and I wore nice clothes and took his aunt and uncle for witnesses and our two young nieces. We did it in the Judge's office, he stood in front of his desk and read the papers. I didn't want to do customized vows, just "I do", "You are now man and wife". We kissed, he congratulated us and my inlaws took pictures. Easy and we went to lunch after!

There was a line and it took like 3-4 hours to finally get in front of a judge. The whole thing took like 3-5 minutes. Only my sister in law and one of my good friends came as witnesses. Signed some papers, paid some money. My husband wore his army uniform (acus) and I just wore a fit and flare dress. You could literally just wear anything. One of my friends and her husband got married in jeans and a t-shirt 🌞

Mine was literally in a 5x8 office with the lady sitting at her desk and we stood in front of it. My friend was there and her boyfriend was there. That's it. Said our vows and there you go. We both worse jeans and shirts.
