Crib training?

Question

My son is 4 months old. Since he was 10 days old he has slept in a bassinet next to my bed. He was only 4 lbs when we brought him home so I didn't feel comfortable with him in his crib. But he's getting way too big for it. I can get him to sleep in his crib but he will only sleep for maybe 20-25 minute then wakes up crying. Should I just let him cry? I feel so bad doing that 😔 I've never just let him cry before.

We just moved our little one into the room. A few times she has woken up screaming like crazy, almost like a bad dream. We pulled her out of the room a few times, and most of those times she would end up having an extra bottle and/or a poop. Then she would get tired again and go to sleep. Other times, when she has just been fussy, we just go into her room, put her soother back in, and walk out. We never let her cry it out for too long, but as often as possible we don't take her out of the crib once she's in for a sleep. Yesterday was a pretty successful day where we had 2 good 1 1/2hr naps and an easy bedtime. Just now woke (3:45am, which isn't like her), so I went in, changed her, and right back to bed.

Roll a towel in a U shape under his crib fitted sheet. It will create that cozy small feel he was used to. I did this with my son when transitioning him from the rock n play. After 2 weeks we took towel out and he is sleeping great!

Try leaving your shirt that you have worn that day up the other end of the crib. That way your little is close to familiar smells and may make them feel more comfortable :)

I bought my little girl a sleep position where she can't roll over or move. Bc she's used to being in the same position all night and fisher price crib mobile to keep her occupied...so far it's working...fingers crossed 🤞 it stays like that...I must admit I miss her by my bed 😭😩

we are having simular issues but we have been putting him in his cot in his own room for his daytime naps(for about 3 weeks now).......he started at 25mins ish now he will do 40 minimum and sometimes 90minutes. I'm hoping it will continue to get better with time. We did it so he will be used to his room when he transitions into there at night time (not for another 2-3 months yet). His afternoon nap today was 90 minutes but we had just got home from a play session and he was clearly exhausted from all the stimulation!!
