I would keep an open mind. Try doing it with the epidural but if it gets bad, know that there is always pain relief.

I also meant to add that just because you get an epidural doesn't mean your baby will be any less alert, "drugged up" or effected whatsoever at that! Our little one was up and at em as soon as they put her on my chest!! I know there's some people out there that swear it effects them 😒

Absolutely loved my epidural!! Allowed me to fully enjoy the experience instead of just think of how much pain I was in. I was still able to move my legs and everything, just with no pain🙌 I was up and walking around within a couple hours, I will definitely do it again:) best of luck to you!!😁

I had an epidural and it was placed the first time no issue and it didn't give me back pain or back pain after delivery.

I didn’t get an epidural with my first and I won’t with this one or ever. Your body is meant to do this. Beside epidural has side effects it makes your back ache really bad from what a couple of my friends have told me. It doesn’t mean it will happen right away, but it does.

I was keeping an open mind with my first labor and after about 9 hours of contractions and swear words flying out my mouth, I got the epidural. It was amazing!! My husband and I finished binge watching our favorite tv show and I got to nap and enjoy the ride. It really slowed down my labor, but it was worth it. I could still feel my legs and even squatted during pushing for the first hour (the nurses had to tell me when to push though because I really couldn't feel the contractions). I got a second degree tear and didn't feel any pain during that or the stitches. My baby came out alert and nursed within minutes. I had no bad side effects from the epidural and plan to do it again.
