What to do with fevers

Question

I've noticed today my baby was sneezing and had running nose. Just checked temperature (armpit) and it showed 101. When do I go to the doctor? Should I go ER since offices are closed? This is my first baby and he's nvr been sick before. 10.5 months old

I would give them some Motrin and monitor them closely. It's not even considered a fever until the temp reads 100.4, so 101 is pretty low grade. If the fever continues to go up after the Motrin, then take them in, but most likely, they will be fine until morning when you can call the pediatrician.

When you measure under the arm pit you’re supposed to add a degree to the reading. So that 101 becomes a 102. So I’d definitely give the doctor a call. You can also give Tylenol to try lowering the fever.

I just had this issue. I called the on call doctor at the clinic at 5am! He was so nice. He told me to give her Tylenol every 4 hrs. If it didn't go away in 48 hrs, bring her in or if her temperature got above 103. Luckily the 1 dose did it

101 fever is pretty low for a baby. My baby was 104.5 and dr said we didn't beed to go to ER but was told to alternate between Tylenol and Motrin.

I was always told that if I see a 101 temp go to the dr or ER.  Fevers are very dangerous with babies.
