Who do I call??

If I take a pregnancy test and it’s positive do i schedule an appointment with my normal doctor or do I call an OBGYN? What if I don’t have an OB? And what do I say? “I need to schedule an appointment to find out if I’m pregnant”???

Also if you’re not sure your pregnant you can go to your regular doctor and they’ll test you there as well.

I just went straight to an OB. I didn’t have one prior to me getting pregnant either. I just called my insurance & asked for which OB I can go to, got the office information, called & made my first appointment. At your first appointment they’ll test you for pregnancy before anything & start all the paperwork you need to have for your pregnancy :)

You can go see your regular doctor but they will suggest an OB to you. I saw both while I was pregnant but I think my doctor only wanted to see me to see my belly.

I went straight to an OB, it was my first time being seen by them. I just called and asked to set up my first prenatal appointment, and at the office they did another urine test. After getting the results we got cultures (so basically a Pap smear) and I filled out lots of paper work. I would've had blood work done that day apparently but I didn't have my insurance set up yet at that point.

Who do I call??
