Awake longer?

My son just hit is due date on the 17th. He was six weeks early. The nurses said he was going to sleep a lot in that time which is totally fine. I'm just waiting for the days where he will be awake and want to play with toys. Any moms who have gone through this too and know about when he would start doing that? He wakes up enough to be fed and do tummy time but then he goes right back to sleep. I know he still has to develop but I also can't wait to spend awake time with him.
