Planned c section after an emergency one last time

My gorgeous little man, born by planned c section on the 13th September at 39+1 weighing in at 9lb 3oz.
I went back and forth between a planned c section and a VBAC throughout my pregnancy. In the end, I decided on a planned as we're having major house renovations, we have a two year old and I also had no faith in my body's ability to give birth.
It's now 11 days after and I'm so glad I went down the planned route. The recovery has been a lot better this time round. I went in well rested instead of having been in labour for 72 hours. My son is much, much more settled than his big brother was and I think it's because he didn't have a traumatic birth. Afterwards, the surgeon told me that I'd made a good decision as she didn't think I could have had him naturally anyway due to him being a good size.
It's always a difficult decision after having a c section first time round. Part of me would have loved a VBAC but I was so worried that I'd end up having another emergency one and I wanted to avoid it at all costs. It was a much, much better experience all round- almost like having a completely different procedure!
