Has anyone tried the hair/string tied to your ring over your belly trick?

So my "period" is supposed to come Thursday (still no positive test) but I did this trick, (we also had my boss do it who is pregnant) and it did the same thing to her.. spun in circles. Which according to the wives tale means it's a girl. I know it's not a proven thing or anything like that. I just think it's fun to try. Curious if anyone else has done it too?

I tried it before when I was pregnant with my baby girl.  it's easier to do if you have someone else holding it and it really works.  I did the ring test before taking a normal test and it would swing every time yet tests were all negative I finally got a positive at 6 weeks .. and it also predicted the sex of my baby.. but you have to wait until after 3/4 months I can't remember exactly and if memory serves me right if It swings back and forth it's a girl and in a circle it's a boy xx

I did. It showed my girls and then a boy another boy and another girl... idk how many we plan on having but its been right so far.
