How old were you when you met your S.O?

How old were you when you met the one? I'm 16 (and very mature for my age I'd like to add 😉) and I think I've met the one, but everyone keeps saying that I'm too young, young love doesn't last, and I'm rushing into things, so now I feel really negative about my relationship! 
So maybe hearing some stories about young love that's last might make me feel more positive and cheer me up 😄

What are you basing your advanced maturity off of? Why are you using that as credibility? Why are you letting what other people say about the validity of your relationship put such a damper on it if you truly believe it to be a mature relationship? There are TONS of stories on here about women that have married their high school sweethearts. Like I literally see one everyday. There’s no age limit on love. Tons of people meet their “one” while they are young. Bully for you if you fall into that category. If you believe your love to be true then why do you need anyone else’s opinion to make it so? I was 20 when I met my wife, she was 18. Still considered young imo. But I loved her and she loved me. I didn’t need anyone else to tell me our feelings were true. I also fell in love when I was 14 and still didn’t need someone to validate my feelings. If you’re young and love someone, just love them. Stop needing someone else’s approval.

What does maturity even have to do with finding 'the one'? What are you trying to demonstrate by saying that? 
Things change, feelings change, people change, life changes. He could be 'the one' for you right now, but it could quite easily change. It's easy to have 'the one' when you aren't in a setting where it honestly matters. At this age you aren't capable of marriage or kids and combining your lives, so it's easier to make a 'decision' when nothing is going to come of it. When you're older and are an independent adult who's looking for a life partner to marry (aka, 'the one') your judgement might change. All you have to worry about now is if he texts you enough and takes you on dates and is nice. When you're older you have to consider his work ethic, life goals, if you're compatible as far as where you're headed in life as well as personality wise, if you 2 make a good team and can work together through the hard times, if he has any habits you can't stand, etc etc. It gets more complicated and there's more stresses added to you both to test the relationship. 
Now, you could be right, he could be the one. But you'll really, honestly, not know for quite a while still

I met 'the one' at 26. I had been in 2 long term relationships before that. So if you feel you're mature, realize you'll most likely not be with the same person in a few years or even next month.

I met my husband in elementary school, but we didn't date until his senior year of college/my junior year of college. At 16 I was in love with a guy who was perfect for me...at the time. We grew apart in college, but I'm still glad we spent a few years together. Don't put too much pressure on a lifelong love at this point, focus on who compliments you best at this time in life.

There's nothing wrong with feeling like that. BUT you also have to understand that there are so so so many changes coming in your life and the way you feel may absolutely change also. You're 16, and there's no sense feeling like it either has to be forever or its over. Enjoy it for what it is, knowing that it very well could last forever or it might not.
