FTM- Please help!

I've had contractions all day, finally went in, they said I was definitely having contractions, but I was only dilated to 1/2 centimeter and they sent me home with instructions to watch for stronger contractions, blood, or water breaking. I know you can spot some after being checked, but I never have, and I have never had it look like this! Is this no big deal or should I be concerned? I'm almost 35 weeks.
