road trip?

Have any of you taken your little ones on a road trip ? If so is there any tips you can throw my way ?things that worked for you . We're going on a trip and I want to make sure I pack according seeing as we'll be in a car for 14 hours I want to keep my LO as calm as possible I know she'll get fussy but I'm trying to make sure she isn't miserable the whole way

We took 14 hour road trip last August we very rarely took rest stops only for when we needed gas and to go to the bathroom. My daughter did great! We had an IKEA sized bag full of toys old and new ones and would bring them out as needed. I was able to sit in the back seat with her while my husband drove and that seemed to help her a lot. We had plenty of snacks and drinks available for her when ever she wanted them. I would say the best purchase for our trip was a little DVD player for the car. IT WAS A LIFE SAVER!! I purchased mine off of amazon for around 40$ we had movies galore for her and it is what kept her most entertained. Our second purchase I would recommend was a magnetic doodle board it is good clean fun! I also purchased that off of amazon for about 20$. Also about a month before we left I would take toys she liked and hide them so she hadn't seen some of those toys for a while and when I brought them out they were like new toys. I myself am not a good traveler and usually need to be medicated to help with my sever motion sickness I hadn't even thought about her suffering from this problem. On our trip down she did get sick and threw up everywhere luckily I had a lot of paper towels Clorox wipes and baby wipes easily accessible to help clean her and the car up. I would definitely have a car sickness bag ready to go just in case your little one isn't a good traveler. You just never know especially on your first road trip. Both my kids are awesome travelers and sleep in the car so traveling hasn't been bad for us. This summer we went on a 7 hour trip and my 16 month old pretty much kept himself entertained but I packed some toys and snacks for him and then of course we had our phones if he got fussy but never had to use them. We also left close to bed time so after about 2 hours into our trip we stopped and let him run around for 15 min and then by time we got on the road he was out for the rest of the trip. Coming home they were both so tired they were put before we got on the highway and slept the entire way.

We drove from ny to az 4 days in the car. I just had toys, books, iPad for videos, snacks. We would leave at like 5am every morning so that she would sleep the first couple hours.

Be prepared to sit in the back beside them and load up a tablet with some downloaded Netflix cartoons and sing-alongs. It was a lifesaver.

we drove 14 he's from FL to VA twice with my daughter and make mini trips (4 hrs to ft myers often-ish). We bring a tablet for videos, we make sure we have Pandora stations on for when she's awake (typically Disney songs our nursery rhymes). lots and lots of snack options, toys, comfort items, and patience. we make as few stops as we can, and we leave around bed time so we really only have a couple hours of her being awake.

We drove 20 hours in two days when my daughter was 13 months. Just take snacks, load some videos on an iPad, games. But be prepared to sit in the back seat. Take lots of breaks to let your LO stretch. Our daughter got a crick in her neck and couldn’t turn her head so we ended up having to use a warm compress and massaged her shoulders 🙄.
