Is the glucose test something you absolutely need? What are your opinions about it. I really don’t wanna do it.

Legally they cannot make you. However if you do have it and don't monitor it because you chose to opt out, it can be detrimental to your child - raising insulin levels, increasing birth weight, and making them at higher risk for diabetes and health issues growing up. 
My doctor doesn't make you, but if you opt out you have to follow the GD diet and consults.

I failed the one and three hour tests last week.  I have GD and I’m waiting for my hospital to set up my management appointment.  I’ve had zero symptoms, and I would not have known without having the glucola and the blood work done.
I honestly think most people should just suck it up and do it.  I’m pissed that I have GD and it was outside of my control, but I want to make sure I keep my daughter and myself safe.

not sure that you have a choice. I failed mine hard and have gestational diabetes that has to be controlled with meds even though I had no symptoms whatsoever. so yeah, you need it.

I would do it if I were you. gestational diabetes can be a serious thing if you don't find out you have it. it can cause problems for you and baby. and honestly it's not that bad. all you do is drink something that tastes like flat soda and then get blood drawn.

Def do the test. My friend didn't have it with her first and ended up with GD with her second baby. It actually was so bad she almost lost her baby. She didn't even feel any symptoms of GD. It's a crazy thing. I took it for the 2nd time (2nd pregnancy) and ended up being fine. I almost fainted with the needles since my Veins are super hard to get. It sucks but a little discomfort for the safety of my child is nothing to compare. Best of luck :)

You should do it, if you have GD you really need to know so you can take care of yourself and the baby. The drink is kind of gross and might make you feel a little sick to your stomach but that's the worst of it. 
If you really don't want to do it you could talk to your doctor about other options like getting a blood sugar test kit and checking your blood sugar manually throughout the day. But the glucose test is easier if you just do it and get it over with.

You should ask your doctor. Mine said I didn't have to but if I didn't I needed to find a new doctor. She had someones baby die from GD and they didn't test.

They can't MAKE you do it, however it's testing for something that can kill you and your baby, so I think it's pretty important

I'm horrible with needles (sometimes faint and have seizures) and I hate pop and sweet drinks... But I can tell you this test is not bad at all.

The test is extremely inaccurate and unnecessary. There's no reason you should have to test for a tolerance for such high sugar levels. Besides that the glucose drink is full of all kinds of crap. As well as the high probability of a false positive. 3rd baby for me and refusing it again. No need to take this test unless you're showing symptoms, otherwise it's just going to overwhelm your body.
