Taking newborn out in public

Even though it's officially Fall (YAY!) it's still pretty hot here in the South so with that being said I was wondering when is it a good idea to bring my almost 2 month old out ( she turns 2 months this Friday) in public without having to cover her? She'll be getting vaccinated on Friday..will I be able to take her out then?
