I got my IUD put in yesterday (9/25/17) and honestly,the pain was much more than I expected. I have the Kyleena IUD. I went through initial pain for about 5 minutes. After that I was having steady cramps for about another 20 then it went back to my normal period cramps because I was and am currently on my period. The pain was a 10/10 but not unbearable because it only lasted for a short amount of time. The insertion did make me very dizzy and light headed afterwords but my doctors office let me stay the in the room until I was completely comfortable with driving home. However,it hurt bad enough that I probably wouldn't do it again but now I don't have to worry about it for 5 years. I go back for my 6 week appointment in November.
