What's a planned c section like??

Okay so I'm pregnant with my second baby💕 my first I had emergency c section it was soooo scary. They put me to sleep when I had my emergency c section. Will they do that again??? I'll have a planned c section now. What's it like? Will it hurt if I'm awake ?  Please help ease my mind 🙄😬

I've had two planned C-sections and it didn't hurt, just a lot of pressure. They don't put you to sleep, but numb you with a shot. 
They'll give you a date, usually a week before your due date to deliver.

Mine was planned due to placenta previa. I was awake, lots of pressure, not necessarily pain... I had a nurse who stayed up by my head talking to me the whole time. they wrapped my little guy up and gave him to my husband who held him next to me while the stitches me back up: as soon as I was closed up, still in the OR, they unwrapped my son and laid him on my chest to do skin to skin as we rolled out of the OR into recovery. I think this can vary from hospital to hospital though so I would check and if you can insist on skin to skin as soon as possible (as long as you are up for it!) we were in recovery for about an hour before we could move the the regular room:

Planned is much better. 
Ask your doctor to talk you through how they do it because hospitals have different rules. With my first two I was shown my babies but couldn’t hold them until after I was in recovery. 
With my third they let me hold her right away and the nurse even took a picture of us. 
Now with this baby I’m having a gentle c-section, so I’ll be able to watch the whole thing, we’ll do delayed cord clamping and I’ll get to hold him right away.

I had a planned csection since my surro twins we scheduled early because they were due around the holidays. It's no different than going into labor with the exception of they don't want labor to start you get out date usually by the beginning of the 3rd trimester pack your bags arrive early to be admitted so you can fill out the necessary forms and get prepared where they draw blood take your vitals again and move into action. The goal is 30-45 mins from your epidural

So calm.  I had a cs planned at 39 bc breech baby.  Water broke at 37w3d- walked into hospital at 1015-confirmed she was still breech.  Cs delivery by 1159. Super calm.  It went by so fast.  My husband said we are doing the same w baby2!  Lol. Yes please!  Good luck!

My first I was awake for and the actual procedure was a breeze. My 2nd I was put to sleep for and ya know what? It was kinda nice not having to wait around getting stitched up. I just woke up and snatched up my baby!  Maybe I can act a hysterical mess this time and get knocked out again 😂

Mine was freaking amazing, had an emergency c section with my first 5 years ago and it wasn’t bad just I was so scared but this time knowing what was going to happen was awesome! Got to the hospital at 6 am got everything set and rolled in the OR at 8:15 and she was here at 8:17!  Now she is 3 weeks old!
