Anxiety and hospital visit late Monday night

A bunch of things happened with work and insurance changing all at once on Monday and I was really stressed/upset the whole day. Apparently the adrenaline from getting all worked up can cause Braxton-Hicks.

I didn't have any other labor symptoms and the contractions weren't increasing in intensity, but I was having them every 10 mins and then every 5 mins for about three hours so after a few calls with my midwife we went in.

They made me drink a ton of water and monitored his heart rate and my contractions for a few hours. They slowed down after a while and they checked my cervix and said it is completely closed so he's not going anywhere yet! Which was a huge relief bc I'm only 31 weeks.

We were home by midnight and I slept in and just took it easy the next day and am feeling much better. Still having a few small ones here and there but nothing consistent.

The moral of the story is stress is no joke! Even though money and work problems and everything can be scary, it's important to listen to your body.

The next time I'm feeling really overwhelmed I know now that I can't just let myself panic the entire day, I have to seriously take a break and find a way to calm down and de-stress so that I can keep cooking this turkey until Thanksgiving! 🦃💕
