Car Seat (10.5mo) When We Use Multiple Cars???

So my MIL wants to buy us this car seat: Safety 1st Alpha Omega 65 3-in-1 Car Seat Westbury. We don't own a car, but we get rides or go out with family of taxi/uber and use our Urbini stroller/carseat in one which doesn't require the base to be used. We can use the seatbelt to secure the seat in quickly to any vehicle. My concern with the car seats available out there is findinhbpne where we don't have to install the base for every ride and then take it put again. But we like the idea of this car seat which grows to front facing and booster eventually. Any one have this seat? Does it have a no base option? Any carseat like this you know of or recommend for multiple car use? TY

The base is connected to the car seat and doesn't come apart. We have an evenflo and I love the latch system it uses because it is quick to install and remove. So I would look into the latch system of whichever seat you choose. And just FYI because I didn't learn it until later on and I don't feel like it is common knowledge but if you do choose to use the latch system make sure not to put it in the middle seat it needs to be on the side unless the middle seat has its own set of latch bars(most don't and most models of cars don't allow for latch sharing)

If you plan to extend rear face and since you need something light weight I would suggest this seat I use it for airplane travel since it’s light weight. It rear faces to 40lb but forward facing its useless. My 3yr old still uses it in flights. My Graco 4ever and Extend2fit 3-1 are heavy and I can’t see myself carrying those around

That’s a horrible seat and the weight limit are not realistic it also takes up a lot of space rear facing. If you want a seat that actually grows with your child I would but a Graco 4ever or Graco extend2fit 3-1 but they are heavy. If you need suggestions on lighter cheaper seats but don’t grow with child let me know

My mom has this car seat in her car for my daughter, I don't believe the base is removable at all. It's a good seat though.

I have the Alpha Omega but I'm not sure if it's 65, but it is a 3 in 1. It was recommended to us as the only carseat we will need. BUT there's an issue.....read the fine print. ....ours has a weight limit of 65 pounds for the BOOSTER, but the forward facing 5 point harness weight limit is only 40 pounds. My son outgrew it by age 4! In my state, you can't legally put them out of the 5 point harness until age 5, and it's not considered safe until 6 or 7! So I had this carseat and liked it, but had to buy yet another forward facing 5 point harness carseat with a higher weight limit, which pissed be off. So check the fine print on this model, if it has a weight limit WITH the 5 point harness of at least 55-60 pounds then you should be fine,  if it's only 40-45 pounds unless your toddler is petite just know you might have to replace it by age 4 or so.
