How long should you talk before going on a date?

I met this guy on a dating app and we’ve been texting for almost 2 weeks. Just texting, we haven’t even heard each other’s voices yet. My question is how much longer do you guys think we should keep texting before going on a date? I know there’s no perfect time, but at least a ballpark number would be helpful. Thank you!

I met my hubby on OK Cupid dating site, I messaged him 1st about 2 days before Halloween, we messaged everyday, & had our 1st date on November 8th, we met @ a low key French cafe & shared a cheese plate while talking for 3 hours, we arrived separately & left separately, we had another date 2 days later that lasted 7 hours & that's when I finally gave him my phone# & address, 3rd date he actually drove me home afterwards. I feel like u can't really know if you're going to click w/ someone until u meet them in person just make sure it's in public, preferably during the day & tell someone where you're going, most importantly try to relax & have fun! :)

my husband and i didnt meet on a dating site but we met online. we talked for about a year before meeting eachother but we werent in contact with the intention of being together initially. when we became romantically interested we were texting frequently for about 3 months and started calling eachother daily a week or 2 after starting an online relationship until we met in person. but probably more helpful than actual time would be to just trust your gut and maybe get some input from a  neutral party. if you get a bad feeling or somethings not adding up dont just dismiss it but try to dig into it more. i always regret if i dont listen to my instinct.
