Who should pay?

If you are both contributing to your child's life equally, who should be paying child support? Neither I or my daughter's father pay child support even tho people have told me to put him on it. I see no reason to do it, but if someone did do it, who should be put on? I make less, we provide our own stuff for her for the house she's staying in, we split daycare in half. We switch every other week.

if everything is already split 50/50 then why would someone need to pay the other anything? the only reason my so pays child support is cause we dont have him 50% of the time. we only have him 2 full days a week.

Is time split 50/50? Does the child live with one parent primarily? This is mostly when I've seen the need for child support--when the child primarily lives at one parent's house in the week, and at the other's on the weekend.

if you both contribute to the children equally there's no point in child support.  If one person is contributing more then the lesser contributer should pay support.

Neither. I never understood how active parents still have to pay for the other parent to provide for the child. If they both co parent and one parent is busting their ass and still has to pay additional to cover the other parent than the other parent isn't doing their job. However if a parent isn't active then yes they should at least pay child support

I've always told my SO that if he equally helps and makes sure that the girls have everything they need I would not consider putting him on child support. He's helping and you shouldn't have to add stress to someone who is helping. 
I have family members who are on CS and they are stressed and struggling.

I have a 50/50 custody agreement with my daughter’s father- she’s with me one week and with her Dad the next week. There is no child support, but if one of us needs help we never hesitate to step in and help. It’s much easier to coparent when there isn’t money involved imo!

if you're both taking care 50/50, paying expenses 50/50 And loving that child 50/50, there is no reason it should be 60/40, 70/30, 80/20, or 90/10. you're both taking responsibility equally, there's no need for anyone to pay any extra

It sounds to me as if you're both being incredibly mature and co-parenting as you should for your child's best interest. The courts should only be involved if one or both of you are selfish a-holes who can't grow up and put your kid first. You're very lucky and if I were you, as long as things stay as they are, you should keep the status quo. Good luck!
