Sleeping through the night!!??

I have an almost ten month old that is STILL waking up three to four times a night. I’ve tried almost everything except cio and I just can’t bring myself to do that. Are there ANY other ways other than crying it out to get him to sleep through the night? Ten months of no sleep is beyond exhausting. I’m basically a walking zombie and can barely function most days.

My son is still up every 2/3 hours. We bedshare and he really only wakes up to comfort nurse back to sleep. At this point, I think I'm just going to have to ride it out and let him decide. I've made my bed with him by doing a bunch of bed time "no no's" and now, I'm just going to lie in it. I'm against CIO for my son and haven't found any form of sleep training that I feel comfortable doing or that has worked for us. I'm just going to let it happen on its own.

My son is almost ten months old and started waking up again in the middle of the night for several hours. We tried everything and nothing worked. At his 9 month check up His pediatrician told me to just let him cry. He said it would last about an hour the first night and then only a few minutes the next couple of nights and then he should be done. We did it and he was sleeping 13 hours through the night by day 3! It was hard the first night. I just sat outside of his room until he stopped. The thing about cio is that you have to remind yourself that nothing is wrong with them. He was full, dry diaper, not sick... he was just perfect except for wanting to be up and playing all the time. Haha. I know it’s not for everyone, but I’m a believer now.

I didn't want to do cio at all, was totally against it but nothing worked. And he was up 6-10 times a night it wasn't bearable. And now he wakes only once at night, occasionally sleeping through the night too

We were going through this! Around 8 months my son just wouldn't sleep more than an hour at a time! No matter what I did. Even if he slept with me, on me, in his crib. I felt like I tried everything. I was exhausted and had a grumpy baby all the time because he was never rested. Many of my friends suggested the Ferber method. I was against it at first because it does involve letting little one cry (just a very little bit). And let me tell you, since we have started that 4 nights ago, we have had 4 amazing nights of sleep. We were even able to cut out night feedings! It has gotten better every night. He slept from 8pm to 6:15am this morning without waking up once! I'm a much happier momma and my baby is a MUCH MUCH happier baby! I highly recommend it!!!

My son was the same way. I tried a few sleep training methods I read but none seem to work. I tried not to resort to cio but I did. I gave myself a short time limit though. 2-5mins. The first night, to my surprise, lasted a min (2x that night). He slept for the most part and so did I. This all happen about a month ago. The 2nd day was better and eventually he started sleeping through the night. From time to time he'll wake up but it doesn't last long. 
I just wanted to share my experience with cio. I'm a FTM and cio was not something I wanted for him... but it helped us. 
I understand all babies are different (mommies too) so do what you feel is best for your little one. I hope you both get the sleep you need.

My boy is the same way.  He starts out in his room in the crib, then comes in our room in the bassinet, and then wakes up in our bed. Lol.  I dont want to do CIO either but I think its what has to be done at this point if you want a change.

My son typically also wakes up 3-4 times a night (it's getting slightly better now. 2-3 or even 1!!!! sometimes (read: twice lol). We did try Ferber and it did NOT work. I feel like I need to say that because most people are like wow it was a miracle, but it wasn't for us. My son does know how to fall asleep on his own, he does it often. He just, for whatever reason, calls for me in the night. 🤷🏼‍♀️ So Ferber didn't help because it's about teaching kids how to fall asleep without help. And actually in our case, CIO/Ferber seemed to make things worse. Ugh. 
What HAS helped is giving kiddo a very consistent sleep routine and we are still getting the bugs out after over a week. Wake up for 700, nap at 10, 230, and bedtime for 800. That's my goal. So whatever time he wakes up he is in that crib for 10. It hasn't been perfect. Bedtime has been around 730 but I think it's slightly too early so I'm trying to push it to 8. He usually wakes up later than 7, so trying to find our feet there because I would prefer a later wake up lol

This was just 4 days in so it's changed a little since but you can see longer naps and he is sleeping better at night. Less hourly waking. More 3-4 hour stretches.
