My fiancé and I have been engaged for a year now. Ever since we got engaged, we've never really have spoken about marriage like at all. One time I asked when were we getting married and he said when we had money because he wanted a big wedding. Ok cool. The other day marriage came up and I told him I had no bridesmaids . I am only 21 and don't really have close friends and I'm not even close to my sisters. He said we'll just ask people we know and I said no that's kind of embarrassing. Then he said he doenst care if it's just both of us in our wedding, meaning we could just go get married by ourselves. And I said I wanted a big wedding, doenst have to be expensive but I want a nice wedding with family and friends. Well he said, how was that going to happen if he didn't have any family. He only has his mom. And I don't have a lot of family nor do we have a lot of friends.

I looked at him and said are you serious? He said yeah, I don't want a big wedding. I could care less if it's just the both of us that would be awesome. So I just stayed quiet because that kind of hurt. I was so mad because I think a past of him lied to me when he first told me he wanted a big wedding. He's been married twice before and had a big wedding ONCE but didn't actually go to court and sign their marriage papers. Why would he tell me that if he doesn't want a big wedding?

I don't understand why we're engaged if we never talk about marriage. Not even after he proposed, he just never says anything about getting married. I'm getting kind of frustrated and about to put this ring away. It almost seems like he's not really sure. He's 34 if it even matters.....
