birth control while breast feeding

So far, I haven't encountered anyone with successful EBF and pill combo. Not mini pill, regular ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone (brand names: microgestin, junell, loestrin).

My gynecologist prescribed the regular pill at my 6 week appointment. She insisted that if my milk supply was well established, I shouldn't have any issues with my supply. However, all the literature out there indicates that estrogen reduces supply.

My LO is 11 weeks now, and I still haven't started the pill out of fear. My husband and I have opted for condoms.

Has anyone else been prescribed the regular birth control pill while breast feeding?

If so, did it have an effect on your milk supply?
