Tattoo prices?

I'm considering getting my first tattoo in the coming new year. I need a better idea of tattoo pricing. Can you ladies tell me what tattoos you have, how big they are, how long they took, and how much you paid? Also, whether you paid hourly or not? Were you happy with that price? Please include pics. I know that's a lot😐 Thanks

you can have one woman with a tattoo the size of a dollar bill say it was $200. and another with the same size tattoo who paid $100. and the cheaper one looks like shit, or it doesnt. it all depends on yhe artist. but i suggest you do your research, find a reputable shop with a great artist with references. its worth the leg work to find a good one! i have tattoos from all stages, and trust me, i wish i would have learned this earlier.

It really depends on a lot of things. The better, more experienced and more sought after artist will be charging more no matter the size or detail because they're just more skilled. You have have an apprentice or someone newer do one for much cheaper, but it may not be as good quality. I have 5, the smallest one is about the size of a baseball and I paid around $120 for it. The largest one I have is the size of a small dinner plate but it's all line work, it took twice as long as any of the other ones even though it's much simpler and I paid about $300. Usually they go by the hour but they may have a flat shop rate. If it takes less than an hour you'll probably have to pay for the full hour unless theyre a very nice person. You can go in with your idea and ask them before you start how much you think it'll cost roughly and they can give you an estimate. Also don't forget to include the tip. I know lots of people don't like tipping but it's a general understanding in this industry that you always tip your tattoo artist. Always.

There is no "pricing" for tattoos. The artist decides usually based on size, location, etc. I have a tattoo the size of a dime on my foot the cost $100 and I have three other tattoos on my hands that are about the same size has that one and they were $50 each, same artist to. The artist decides whatever they want to do. Your not going to get a straight forward answer with this one

my newest piece is the sun and moon one that says you are my sunshine, and i love you to the moon and back, with my kids names was $100. but i know the artist. she's incredible.  and this is my design. she free handed it from a picture i showed her.

the anchor and wheel, are from an artist who was just starting out. paid $100 for both. plus tips. they are a mess.

the love one woth the swords, i drew myself. it was $75. great artist.

the name gabe on my wrist, it was cut but before it looked fine. that one was $60 bc the artist is fron a well known shop and you literally pay for the brand basically. its about two inches long, another artist would have done it for half.

I have these! I designed them myself. They have a lot of meaning behind them, but that isn't a requirement by any means. They cost $100 total, plus I paid a $10 tip. Idk if it was just my artist or my skin, but I had to get them touched up 3 times in the past 3 years - and getting them touched up hurts worse than actually getting them. 
I have my next tattoo planned, and I've done a lot of research for good artists in my area. That one is going to cover most of my leg, and it's going to be like $100 an hour just because of the artist and what I want. It'll probably take several sessions and at least 10 hours to finish.

It totally depends on where you live, the artist, the shop, and the tattoo. Like where I live everywhere is $100 an hour at least.

People can tell you all those things but in the end theyd be wrong for your price you need to go ahead and contact local shops in your area talk to them go in and have them give you a quote they are the ones doing it they are the ones you pay they will tell you the price range for their shop
