Do you guys think buying my boyfriend a pair of $250 shoes and a outfit is too much?? We would be dating 10 months by his birthday

That depends.. I bought my ex a $200 dollar watch when we were dating for 3 months, that was a complete waste of my money as he’s a piece of shit 🙃 spent more than $400 dollars on my now fiancé for his birthday last year buying him sports gear, two tickets to his favorite football teams game, and some other stuff as well after only being together 5 months & id do it over and over again for him because I knew then and I know now that he’s the right one.

I used to spend $200 (more or less) every Christmas and birthday on my SO. And I personally enjoy opening up a ton of small gifts so that's what I would do for him. I would get one big one around $100 and then a ton of smaller ones. I just think it's fun that way. Now we sometimes don't even get each other gifts because we're broke haha. If you can afford it and it's something he would enjoy, then go for it!

if you have the money for it, it's not too soon. my husband spent a lot on me during our first Christmas (6 months of dating), but it was before we lived together and he was still getting living expenses help from the navy for being a full time student. He had a lot of extra money back then so it didn't affect his financial situation at all. as long as it's not going to set your bills behind and you feel he deserves them, why not?

I totally regret spending that amount of money and more on my ex... He forgot my birthday completely and I gave him a $100 gift... I kept paying for thongs when we went out coz he always said he was 'broke' but then he used to go out with other friends and have enough money for weed and stuff... I got him another presny for Christmas, probably like $100 too, but he got me nothing and didn't even say thank you. (got it sent to him coz he was on vacation which he's too 'broke' to afford)
Anyway if I had a bf/SO that actually loved me and made me feel extremely special then I would but only if I saw a future with him and not because I'm desperate for love or a relationship
