Birth story:
At my 9am 38 week appointment, my OBGYN swept my membrane. Shortly after I had light bleeding and uncomfortable sensations (slightly painful but not too much). However, I continued on with my day. Around 6 pm-ish, I started getting real contractions about 8 minuets apart, and I started loosing my bloody show. By 10pm they were 4 to 5 minuets apart. I called my doctor around 11:30, and was told to come in to L&D.; After I checked in around midnight, I was 2 and 1/2 centimeters dilated from the 1 and 1/2 at my OBGYN office earlier that day. They told me to walk around the L&D; and bounce on the birth ball. They checked me around 4am, and there was no change from my initial check. So, I walked some more. Around 8am I was checked again, and I was finally at 3 centimeters. My contractions started to pick back up after that check, and around 10am I was finally 4 centimeters. I was finally checked in, and given an epidural around 11am. They checked me every hour afterwards, and I went from 4 centimeters to 8 by 1pm. The last two centimeters where the worst. The contractions where so painful they upped my epidural dosages. By 2pm I was at 10 centimeters, and still feeling my contractions a lot. OMG it was rough. However, after 8 or so pushes, Liam was out by 2:40pm. I was exhausted. They laid him on my chest for about 40 minuets before they took him for measurements. I’m so in love! My 8 year old, Ethan, will be coming by after school today. He’s so excited, just like my husband. They are so cute together.
