Anyone became a stay at home mom after having their baby?

Question

How do you feel about your new role? Do you miss working?

I only had one baby but I did decide while I was pregnant that I wouldn't be going back to work. The more I thought about it, I wanted to be sure I enjoyed every moment with my only baby. I wanted to be the one that raised him, I didn't want to be working just to pay for daycare and I didn't want to miss out on his childhood for a job I didn't even like. I planned on going back to put in my two weeks after my maternity leave but I ended up walking out hours into my first day back. My husband has been supportive through my decision to stay at home. He loves that I'll be the one at home caring for our son. He's more than happy to work to provide for us and loves that we're here when he comes home for lunch and when he comes home for the day.

My baby is 10wks old and I am a stay at home mom now. I do sometimes miss work but I don’t want to leave my baby.. I know no one can take care of him like I do. But it does get lonely and sometimes depressing cuz I have no friends (they all moved out of state) so I am alone all day everyday with the baby. Unless my husband and I go somewhere or if I go to my sisters for a little while. I try to get out the house at least once a week so i don’t get too depressed. I wouldn’t trade it for the world tho, I love watching the new things he learns and seeing his smiles makes it all worth it! It definitely has its pros and cons.

I became a stay at home mom before we started ttc. We have 3 older boys ages 7, 6 and 4 now. I strted staying home because our middle son has some developmental delays and requires several types of therapy. Also because childcare was so expensive. We now have 1 in 1st grade, 1 in kindergarten and 1 on the waiting list for a prek program. Our newest LO is 2 months now. But it is definitely harder than i thought being a stay at home mom. Both before our LO arrived and now after. I miss working and helping financially, but i never got to stay home with our older boys, so i am enjoying the extra time with him.

I became a stay at home mom after working till my last day two days before having my daughter. Childcare was too expensive and this makes it baby number 3. It’s stressful at times because there’s always something to do and work wasn’t as stressful but I can say it’s so rewarding to be able to be with your children and especially be a part of my daughters first year and be more with my family. I’m at peace with my decision even though at the beginning I did it... but it’s a privilege.

I became a stay at home mom at around 27 weeks for unforeseen reasons but didn't have my bubb until 41 weeks so I've missed work for quite some time but I do enjoy my baby time 😁😁
