Painful vulva... help??

Question

I started masturbating to orgasm probably two or three weeks ago, but lately I’ve been experiencing sharp, piercing pains around my vulva during or afterward. It’s gotten to the point where even spreading my legs a little post-masturbation sends sharp pains up into my vulva and I don’t know what to do/what causes it. Any help/experience/advice??

It's possible if you haven't done this very much before starting to recently, you may be doing it too much for your body and your vulva just needs a rest or you've been too rough. But I do agree about going to the doctor cuz it does sound strange. I've been slightly sore before like a dull ache. Sharp pains sound a bit off and it's waaaay better to ask a doctor and be sure. Don't panic over it, just stop masturbating and go to the doctor and describe exactly what you're experiencing and they'll check on you and tell you what's up. If you go to a general practitioner/personal care provider, it's possible they won't even look at you, they will just tell you what it sounds like and then give you a referral to see a gynecologist. Some GP's will give you a direct answer but some wont. Don't feel alarmed if they don't it's just red tape about what they do or don't specialize in. If you wanted to skip a possible second appointment just go to your gynecologist without seeing GP.
