Proposing???

I desperately want him to propose, we’ve been together for 3 years but we’ve been best friends for 10 years. I just want the ring on my finger because I want it to be like this is and will always be my lady. I’m fine with waiting to get married for a few years. I know he’ll do it when he’s ready but I’m so impatient. Do I keep asking him about it or do i just let him do his thing and let him do it when he’s comfortable?

Let him do it when he is ready, if you keep asking he will feel like he is doing it because you want him to and it will be a lot less special and authentic. Sure you may be happier, but if he feels like he didn't get to surprise you or make the decision on his own, he won't be.

Pressuring him may scare him away. If he's not ready to propose, then you have to respect that. If you love your guy, respect his feelings. Take a deep breath and relax. Things won't happen on your timeline necessarily. Things will happen when they are meant to. Surrender this need to be engaged right now so that you don't end up interfering in the natural order of things. Trust me when I tell you that you want him to propose when he's ready. Not a moment sooner. If you feel like it's taking too long, and you're not sure if he'll ever be ready, that's when you need to ask yourself what you love more… Your man, or the idea of being engaged/married. If you love the idea of being engaged/married more than you love your man, then that's when you need to make the tough decision to leave and find someone who is more interested in marriage with you. But for now, be patient and surrender to the flow.

You can't push someone to be ready to say 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you'. Him putting a ring on your finger is basically saying that, it takes some people longer to get to that point than others. He'll do it when he's ready.

don't keep asking thats pressuring him. sit down and talk to him ask him for a general timeline. like when do you see marriage happening when do you see kids happening things like that just to get a general sense on when he feels like it's a good time. what he says maybe how he feels now and that can change at any time so you can't take it to heart like this is when it's going to happen but it gives you an idea on how he is thinking. if he has already told you this stuff then you need to just let it be. how would like it if someone kept asking you something you werent ready for. it would become annoying and make that topic very sensitive to bring up because your already over the pressure and being asked. my SO asked me after 3 years he knew I wanted to wait til I was at least 26 to get married and was ok with waiting to get married. now that I'm 26 he keeps asking when is it going to happen and I dont have an answer for him. i had to tell him to stop asking because i was getting very touchy whenever he brought it up I want to marry him but I'm not ready for marriage right now I'm happy enjoying our time together and when we are both ready it will happen.
