how soon should I re-test?

my period was due 9/26. not a single sign no acne or bloating. no migraine or cramping nothing. I tested in the afternoon this past Saturday (9/30) when would be best to retest? I know its best to use the urine from when you first wake up I usually just don't have time before I go to work plus we live with his parents at the moment and trying to avoid them knowing at all costs for the time being. his mom has already questioned me because of my lack of lady products in the bathroom for so long. I'm usually pretty regular if I'm ever late its never more than a couple days.
