How do you decide on a date?

So the mister & I decided on a month but can't decide which day? 
How did you decide on a date?

What's available by the venue, where people are traveling from, do you have the flexibility to do a week day or does it have to be a weekend, etc.? 
We're looking at using a summer camp, so we obviously have to wait until summer camps are over, but we can't wait too long because we have parents coming that have children that would have school relatively soon after that.

My mother in law picked our date...well suggested it and I agreed. 9-19-19 It reads the same both ways. We live in a small town area so we are probably doing a backyard wedding(free and I can do whatever I want) or renting a property that doesn't usually hold many events as our wedding will be smaller.
