Confused, help me!

So my boyfriend and I have been dating for over 2 months now. We both had recently gotten out of long term relationships. His ex cheated on him and I broke up with my ex because I fell out of love with him and i fell out of love a year before I actually broke up with him. So my new boyfriend seems to not be the most open person. For example, I would tell him something or ask him a question and he would come back with the most basic response. He won’t pry into the conversation or say anything to keep the conversation going. My guess is that he is afraid to open up based on his last relationship but I’m not sure, that may just be who he is. I have a blog post that gives an insight of my struggles growing up and he had read it, and I asked what his thoughts were on it, and he said “I thought it was good.” Like he had no questions or deeper comments about it. He has yet to know my whole life story and why I am the way I am. Is that something I just let naturally come up? When we are together, everything is fine. He goes to school 4 hours away and texting is always boring, so we have a lack of communication during the week and it kills me. What do I do? How can I get him to open up more? I’m so lost on what to do
