Cradle cap olive oil

Hi everyone, my 8 week old has cradle cap and my doctor recommended putting olive oil on her head then combing the flakes out. We gave her a bath after and shampooed her pretty well but her hair is still super oily! Any tips or just keep shampooing until it comes out? I'm worried about drying her out since she had dry flakes to begin with!

My husband wasn't there when the doctor said to do it so now he thinks I'm crazy for making her hair so greasy 😜
