Up or down?

My husband and I got into a controversy tonight. When you want it to be warmer with the a/c on would you turn it down or up? My logic is you would turn it up because 74 is higher than 72 meaning 74 is up. His logic is you want to turn it down because you want it to be less cold and in terms of coldness 74 is down. It would be the opposite for both of us with heat. What do you ladies think?

You would turn the air conditioning down to make it cooler and up to make it warmer because it's the air conditioner. If you're talking about the general thermostat, it would be the other way around.

I see it as higher power = up, lower power = down. It doesn't have to do with temp. Turning the AC up makes it cooler, turning the heater up makes it hotter. Turning the AC down makes it closer to the actual temperature, same as the heater.

It's up/down in relation to temp. So say if it's 70 and he's cold, you'd turn it up to a higher number like 74, and if he was hot you'd turn it down to a lower number, like 68

But I say up or down in regards to temp.
So if we are running the heater and I want it warmer I say ‘turn it up’; if I want less heat I say ‘turn it down’. If I’m running the AC and I want it cooler I say turn it down; if I want it warmer
I say ‘turn it up’.

ah, I'm the opposite here. If the a.c. is on and I want it colder, I say "turn it up" as in *turn the level up so it blows harder making it colder*. If I want it warmer I say "turn it down" meaning make it not blow cold ass air so hard. Get it?

I just always tell my husband to make it colder 😂😂 my pregnant ass can barely remember the right terms for anything. The other day I told him to look in the stairs for a movie. The stairs, being our coffee table that you lift the top off of 🤦‍♀️ So I'm not going to weigh in which is accurate. At this point I have no sense left.

Listen I just say the colder the better. My house is usually on 60-65.
And no one touches it after I cut it on. My kids are used to the cold and my babe sleeps in a hoodie. I feel bad but I can’t sleep in heat.

We keep the ac during the day around 71 when we aren’t how, when we get home we turn it down to make it cooler. When I was it colder I turn it to 68, especially to go to sleep. If I want the heat warmer we turn it up. And when we want it colder we turn it down. Down is colder up is warmer. If we have the ac on and say it’s 70 outside, we have to turn it down below 70 to get the ac to kick on and make it cooler.
