is genetic screening a must?

I am starting my first IVF cycle today and have noticed that many of you ladies got your embryos checked before transfer for genetic issues. I live in Belgium and here they do not do it unless there is reason for suspicion (genetic diseases in the family, recurrent misscarriage, etc). So I am a bit worried, should I find a clinic where they make genetic screening?

We are not doing PGS, we decided we were goi ng to take what God gives us but also with PGS they tend to toss anything lower than a Grade B.  Lots of Grades C make healthy viable pregnancies.

It’s not required.  We won’t be doing it. I’ve recently read an article where an RE group is using the PGD “abnormal” embryos and healthy babies are being born. We don’t see the need for the added expense, if we got pregnant naturally, we wouldn’t think about testing, so...

There’s a decent false positive rate and there’s been more research that a number of the “abnormal” embryos actually can correct themselves. If you google it you can find it. 
We didn’t do PGS and made the decision early on that we wouldn’t. Unless you’re screening for a known issue I don’t think I’d do it.

You dont need it. It can reduce your miscarriage rates and screen out embryos that wouldn't stand a chance and those with chromosomal abnormalities thus increasing the likelihood of having a healthy successful pregnancy (which means less embryo transfers). Its really expensive, at our clinic it literally doubles the price. I've also read that there are 2 different tests and only 1 is really useful. We didn't do any PGS with our embryos, I'm currently 16.5 weeks, we had the anatomy scan and nuchal translucency and everything is looking good.

The dr I am seeing recommends genetic testing for all his patients. It's pricey but worth it. I got a call from him this morning letting me know that they retrieved 13 eggs last sun, 10 fertilized but only 3 embryos were the strongest. They are now ready for genetic testing but since we want 2-3 babies, he recommends doing another egg retrieval to increase our chances but that means doing the process again and more money. Just not sure if I can do it again mentally physically emotionally and more importantly financially.
