3 words I didn’t want to hear...
Decreased ovarian reserve. After 4 months of trying at 35, I sought help with my OB/GYN because my cycles were short and when I tracked my ovulation, my luteal phase was only 9 days long. He started me on clomid this past week but we got labs and they just came back. My AMH was 0.3 which is incredibly low and indicative of a poor response to ovarian stimulation.
I cried my eyes out all day today. I never thought that trying for my first time to get pregnant at 35 would be like this. I envisioned us having 3 kids over the next several years.
I called 3 different fertility centers today and set up appointments - by the way I was surprised at how far they are booking out! I think I want to go straight to IVF and try to stimulate whatever we can out of my ovaries and bank embryos for the future.
Anyone with a similar experience and positive results want to share? I’m feeling incredibly alone and not optimistic anymore. 😭
