Can someone explain Clomid?
I am going to be talking to my OB about Clomid and before I do I just want to ask some questions. Before I ask I want to explain why I'd want to take it in the first place. Ever since I started having periods I could go months, even a year without having one, I'm 23 and I've never in my life been regular. I also have a son who is about to be a year and when ttc him it took 2.5 years and through ovulation testing I found out I only ovulate once a year, and I only seem to ovulate in January. I definetly want more children and I want them soon and close together so I don't want to have to wait another 2.5 years so that is why I am planning to ask my OB about Clomid.
My questions are this:
What type of oral medicine is it? Like what is the schedule? Is it daily like birth control, twice daily, weekly etc? and do I need to start it at a certain time in my cycle? If that's the case I may be screwed because I never know when I'm going to have a period 😕
Is the risk for twins really higher? I'd live to have twins but I'd also be happy with a single baby, just the idea of twins excites me because I've always wanted them and no one in my family has ever had them.
How much does it cost if insurance doesn't cover it?
And I'd love to hear anyones stories in general about their experience if anyone wanted to share.
Thank you!
