solids?

my doctor gave the green light for solids for my 4 month old. is anyone else getting this go ahead as well?? I assumed she would start at 6 months. she's ebf, sleeps well at night, and doesn't sit up independently yet. opinions?

4-6 months is abnormal range to start. All depends on baby

I did, I'm not super consistent with it because some days she's just not interested other days she acts like it's the best stuff ever. So I'm not going to force her to eat it. I figure she'll get the hang of it eventually, but she definitely likes to try and feed herself (really just shoves the spoon in her mouth)

My daughter was so interested in food so we started at 4 months. We started with veggies and then moved onto some fruits. I didn't think she would want peas after apples because they are so sweet. She didnt really care for cereal and thats not really needed.

A lot of doctors go by old recommendations. We know more today. There is nothing wrong with sharing your findings with your doctor and asking why he’s going against WHO recommendations.

I got the go-ahead from my son's peadiatrician at 4 months aswell but was told to start slow with rice cereal and ease into heavier things like sweet potato, applesauce, etc. Solids at that age are really just a fun experiment and breastmilk/formula should remain their main source of food.

Our pediatrician said it was ok to start at 4 months, but I kinda wish I waited. My son wasn't really interested at all at that age. He's 8 months now and is finally interested in eating more.

Ours did at 5 months but we didn't really start until 6.5m. Based on his pucker face he did not like the green beans tonight

My daughter is 4 months old and we are waiting on solids until 6 months.. my doctor never said anything about food and I was going to wait anyway.. she’s not a very hungry baby and just doesn’t seem ready yet
