Is it safe?

For insurance reasons I haven't seen a doctor yet! I'm 11w 3d (no judging in doing my best) I will be seeing a doc Next week but I have the worst sore throat! I have some Theraflu and was wondering if other mommies have gotten it okayed by their doc! Is it safe to take Theraflu while pregnant? I have Theraflu Flu and Sore Throat packets!

Don’t take any medications without talking to your doctor first. What is safe for some, could be dangerous for others. Try natural remedies. Warm milk with honey. Or tea with lemon and honey. Gargle salty water. Don’t risk it especially right now bc baby’s development is very vulnerable during first trimester

My Dr said no to theraflu for some reason. Only tylenol and you can gargle, take honey, apple cider vinegar, cough drops.

No theraflu. You'll just have to deal with symptoms until you get to a doctor unless you have a free clinic.

for insurance reasons I couldn't see a doctor when I found out until I was like 8 weeks but I got extremely sick before then and couldn't see a doctor so I went to the er because they also checked to make sure everythings ok with baby and me I'd call somewhere and ask about taking that before taking it though just in case

I dont think that Theraflu is safe, at least in the first trimester. Does it have phenylephrine hcl? If so, from what I've read, studies are mixed but it seems questionable in the first few months. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is generally said to be safe though and should help a sore throat! Also, there's no need to see a doctor before about 10-12 weeks (unless you have pain or bleeding) so dont let anyone make you feel bad about that!
