How to keep baby sleeping on their back?

Any tricks to keeping a 4.5 month old sleeping on their back in the crib? My baby rolls over to his belly but can’t get back. He then starts crying. He just started sleeping through the night and now this has started! Help!

My daughter sleeps on her stomach. Our pediatrician told us as long as we are putting her to sleep on her back and she rolls over to sleep on her stomach on her own- we can just let her be. Since she can roll and move her head around so she can breathe- it’s fine. 
He said positioners are often more dangerous than letting them be.

I honestly just let my 4 month old sleep on her stomach, would you always want to lay on your back? That’s how I look at it lol.

Once they are able to roll over by themselves it is fine to leave them that way. Just be sure to always put them to sleep on their back.

I was wondering the FDA just said do not use pillows or anything 😩😭 so how do we keep them on their backs...

This is the one I bought Melissa. It is a tad small for our crib so there's a few inch gap on one side so I just rolled up a blanket and then put the crib sheet over it so you can't even tell

You could try rolling up a towel and putting them on either side under the crib sheet so they can't grab or pull them up over them but that might also make them mad if they try turning and can't. My LO rolls all over the place but I put a memory foam topper on her mattress and it keeps her from rolling at night. I think the that little added cushion prevents it. Sorry I wish I had a better answer! My friend is going through the same with her 5 month old and he wakes every half hour! 😳

I'd just work on rolling as much as possible during the day so they learn to roll back but my daughter was the same way
