I’ve never heard of them having you help. I always had the doc do it.

The doctor has always done it, but the one time I went on base to get it done, she had me put it in, and that for me was rather awkward.

When I was in the ER at 6 weeks, the tech who did the ultrasound did it. At my first doctor's appointment, I did it.

It varied. Women asked if I wanted to, but at the ER it was a man and he asked me to insert it. I didn’t care either way, but if they asked I usually just let them and I’d lay there. It was already awkward enough, lol.
