how do you know you started your period of you are still bleeding from birth??

I'm 5 and a half weeks pp and I'm pmsing HARD. Cramps so bad, craving sweet and salty foods, and I'm irritable af! Cramps with a newborn is terrible!

I ebf my daughter after c section I bleed for 3 weeks went to a brown then stopped then at 4 weeks pp bam 5 days of red heavy then stopped and now my daughter is 8 weeks old I'm expecting period again any day now . Midwife and dr said yes it was a period

5 weeks & exclusively breastfeeding 😭
I knew because my afterbirth bleeding almost stoped then BAM it was back hardcore & I had normal PMS pains 😖

I am 7 weeks today exactly and it started. I breast feed half the day and the other half supplemental formula  (every other feed) so about 4 times per day. My lochia stopped around 5 weeks so I had about a 2 week break yay me lol. 
I started to use a light progesterone cream to balance my hormones about a week ago so that might have brought it on
