rash from moisture getting stuck there. A good bath, and extra attention to the area will help. I would start with talc for daytime and a little diaper rash cream for the longer stretches of sleep to help heal the skin.

It's from moisture that gets trapped. It's sometimes under the arms too. I apply a thin film of Aquaphor on it after I blot it dry with a tissue after baths. I also use a bib to keep the drool from getting stuck there.
