My emergency C-section
Just wanted to share my story! On October 2nd I started to have contractions around 11 at night. At first they weren't to strong so I thought I could sleep through them. Yea.. no.. the closer they got the stronger they got. So I layed down in bed and just counted them.. around 12:30 I was now having them about 5-6 min apart so I called L&D; and asked if I should come in. I was told no because first time moms should wait until they are 3 to 4 mins apart.. Back to trying to sleep again.. no luck.. at 2:30 in the morning I decide I should try and get the contractions to stop ( My husband went to the field and I didn't want him to not be there) a hot bath, 44 oz of water, and relaxation did NOTHING. So at 3 in the morning I had an contraction that took my breath away. That's when I said fuck it grabbed my keys and drove to L&D.; (didn't want to wake husband because he had to get up at 5 to do army shit and assumed it would be a false alarm) I get there with a couple of stops on the way 😂 and yup.. I'm in full blown labor. I call my husband and they put me in a room and said I could have epidural anytime I wanted. I tried to wait it out but the pain was to much. The epidural worked great I couldn't feel anything besides every. freaking. contraction.... They ended up giving me something stronger which allowed me to sleep for an hour but when
I woke up the medicine wore off and I was feeling the pain once again. At this point they decided to break my water. That's when everything went down hill.. 3 nurses came in and put me on oxygen I knew something was wrong because I've seen 4 births. I tried to not look at my husband but failed. He saw the fear in my eyes and started to ask what's wrong. Her heart rate dropped from 140 to 60 and wasn't going up. They tell me I'm going to have an emergency c section.. I get to the operating room and I ask where my husband is over and over.. The place they were going to do the incision is the same place I was feeling my contractions and would not go numb no matter what they did.. So I was put under.. I dont remember much until an hour later only they put her on my chest after I woke up to feed and I remember them saying she latched an was getting milk. Found out her heart rate decreased rapid because her cord was wrapped around her neck. No health issues though and she is doing amazing! Even is breast feeding extremely well!
