Did anyone have a baby shower for their second baby?

I had a shower for my 1st baby, a boy, and then again for my 2nd because it was a girl. Can't really re-use boy things for a girl. I am now having baby #3, and we decided to do a sprinkle instead of a full shower. Reasons, because we got rid of all of our baby things... we thought our daughter would be our last, and there is a 6 year age gap. Some people think having more than one shower is tacky. But a baby shower is meant to shower a baby in things they will need, not the mother.

I will be! I had my first super young almost 8 years ago and from a previous relationship. Those baby items are LONGGGG gone.
My husband’s family is throwing me one and they are thrilled to do so. Hope no one has a nasty attitude like the some of the commenters here. 
Most people see it as celebrating the mom to be, but I also see it as celebrating the coming of another family member! Do what you want 💕

Unless your kids are like 10 years apart or something crazy like that I find it to be rude to have a shower for any children after the first one. I will only attend the first child's baby shower.

I didn't only because my first too were only 32 months apart and on one offered to throw me a sprinkle. That being said I personally would never feel offended getting invited to a shower for a second baby regardless of the age difference in between the kids. I say do whatever you want and if anyone has a problem with it they don't have to get you a gift.

Baby showers are to celebrate baby, but the term "shower" suggests gifts. While to each their own, I am personally not into having second or third showers. I feel like you can celebrate any additional babies in many ways, not involving creating another registry. It really isnt anyones responsibility to make sure your child has the essentials in the first place... people call it "celebrating" baby, but can you not do that without a registry? I believe you can... i guess its what makes people feel less guilty about expecting gifts for second and third baby showers. Now grant it I can understand huge age gaps like 10 years, but anything less... Im sorry... have a cookout, dinner or whatever to "celebrate" baby.

I will be having one but my husbands family and my side are throwing it for me. There is nothing wrong about celebrating another birth, especially in my case when getting pregnant again wasn't even a possibility.
