Do prenatal vitamins really work when trying to get pregnant?

me & my bf of a year have been trying to conceive. I'm not sure if we are doing it right or not. as in the right way to conceive. I've been taking a prenatal vitamin daily for about a week now to help the process & having sex when its convenient for me & my other half. if you guys have any helpful ideas , let us know ! 😘 you're all appreciated . I just don't think I or him can have kids . & just haven't made a doc appt yet 😔

Its not the fact that they "work", they help give your body the nutrients and vitamins it would need if pregnant. That way, from the start, your baby would be on the right track.

The prenatal is more to help keep the baby healthy when he or she is developing than helping you actually get pregnant. Try to have sex every other day from the time you stop your period for about 3 weeks. That's what worked for me this month. 😃

I said no because they don’t help you conceive. They are so that you have the right vitamins to grow a healthy baby. As for conceiving, everyone is different. Some say sex every second day, some every day (we conceived the time we went everyday). Tracking CM and temp. Eating healthy and exercising. Trying not to stress. Unfortunately, there’s no set answer for how to conceive.

My feeling is that anything that keeps your body healthier or balanced is a positive when ttc. I would stick with the Prenatal for sure.
If you want to increase your chances I would try tracking your ovulation for a month or two to see if you are ovulating when you expect. The truth is that the window to get pregnant is reasonably small and knowing when you are your most fertile can help you gauge when is the optimal time to have sex, rather then just when it is convenient. In the best circumstances  (healthy and regular ovulation) you have a 30% chance of fertilization and implantation, which is easy to miss for some. You could try tracking you BBT and doing an OPK kit.
It is also worth it to have a doctor visit if you have been trying for a year, just to make sure you are clear of any common issues that effect your fertility.
